Humanitarian Settlement Program

The Humanitarian Settlement Program is a national program that supports refugees during their initial settlement. AMES Australia has been providing settlement services to newly arrived refugees and humanitarian entrants since 2005.AMES works with a number of organisations that provide Government support through a number of services. Between October 2005 and June 2017, AMES Australia assisted over 51,000 clients with their settlement across Victoria; close to 20,000 under Integrated Humanitarian Settlement Strategy (IHSS) between October 2005 and March 2011 and over 21,000 clients assisted through Humanitarian Settlement Services (HSS) from April 2011 until June 2017.

From October 2017, AMES Australia (alongside consortium partners and sub-contractors) began delivering the Humanitarian Settlement Program (HSP) in Victoria, South Australia and Tasmania.
