Many Voices, One Future
At AMES Australia, we are working to build awareness of primary prevention of violence against women within newly arrived, migrant and refugee communities. For our communities to thrive, safety and gender equity must be at the centre. A deep understanding of these issues is not only critical in preventing violence, but also in building safer, more cohesive societies where everyone has the opportunity to live to their full potential and participate in building a better future.
AMES Australia is leading the way in embedding primary prevention through a range of programs and projects.

Our Current Work
Many Voices, One Future
Over the next three years AMES Australia will roll out the Many Voices, One Future program nationally. This will see us begin to expand our grassroots prevention model—embedded in classrooms, community forums, settlement hubs and local communities to other States and Territories, empowering migrant and refugee communities to lead change in reducing the prevalence of violence within families and our communities.
- Working with humanitarian arrivals to Australia
AMES Australia is working together with Intouch Multicultural Centre against Family Violence to strengthen the capacity of services to support newly arrived humanitarian entrants with the tools, insight and resources to engage in violence prevention and early intervention.
- Working with Men
Engaging men as allies in prevention, challenging stereotypes, and reshaping community attitudes around respect, equality and partnership. The voices on men from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds is essential to bringing long term and sustained change in attitudes that promote gender equality and safety of women and children. Between October 2025 and December 2026, we will be working on developing compelling resources and leadership programs to amplify the voices of change through targeted programs in Melbourne and the La Trobe Valley.
Proven Outcomes
- 240 emerging leaders upskilled to deliver impactful prevention initiatives
- By 2025 nearly half of graduates actively contributing to prevention through work or volunteering
