Language and Literacy
This program will provide learners with English language and literacy skills to enable them to communicate with increased confidence and effectively participate in the community, to undertake volunteer work or entry level employment in the future.
This program is 40 hours with two levels, Beginners and Post Beginners. It is envisaged that the learners:

gain basic literacy skills for every day tasks
What will I learn?

Speaking and listening:

Following instructions, asking for assistance, listening for directions, spelling words, listening for numbers

Practising conversation and communication skills and using interaction strategies such as clarifying, seeking additional information, providing information, turn taking, responding with role-plays done in class

Reading and writing:
-
Read simple texts, letter and number formation
-
Simple writing exercises such as shopping lists, notes and messages

How will I learn?
Online Learning, where the student studies remotely off campus using training materials that are provided online or correspondence by the Teacher/Trainer
Face to face learning available but subject to COVID-19 restrictions

Applicants may be eligible for government subsidised training if they meet Australian Citizen or Australian Permanent visa holder requirements. If eligible no tuition fees apply.
